Grooming wise, the Scottish fold requires higher grooming and maintenance in comparison with the British short hair that requires less maintenance and grooming.
The Scottish fold requires moderate shedding while the British shorthair cats require minimal shedding.
The Scottish fold with about a difference of one year has a longer lifespan tendency than the British short hair. Also, the British shorthair weighs about 7 pounds more than the Scottish fold in regards to their maximum weight. The British short hair is a perfect lap cat.

The Scottish fold has a bi-color patterned body and usually comes in a number of colors. They are blue, dark, brown, and exotic, fawn, lilac, red, black, brown, chocolate, cinnamon, cream. While the British short-hair cats come in fewer colors. They are tortoise Shell, red, white, brown, Cream, silver, tabby and white, and blue.
Unlike the Scottish fold and the British short hair, the Russian blue Scottish fold does not come in many colors. The Russian blue has a dense coat. They also have double coats and in comparison to the lifespan of the other two breeds, the Russian blue can averagely live up to 20 years. Plus they usually come in medium sizes.
